The Art of Language—Grammar and Writing
This is a unique program that Tina designed for adults and has modified it for youth. Exercise your “right-brain” to learn “left-brain” grammar. Use shapes and colors to identify and understand sentence parts, along with quick sketches for comprehension. The content is uplifting short stories, and there’s no problem with varied reading levels. Learn in a skill-building progression that includes topics such as “building sentences,” “rhythm of the right,” “painless punctuation,” “a way with words,” and more.
Cardboard Construction and Painting
Use your creativity to construct 3-D objects with cardboard and various mixed media in a step-by-step process. Then paint and decorate and assemble into a mobile. This is appropriate for all ages, so students create at their skill level. Fee includes all materials. Contact Tina if your child is outside the age range.
Pen & Ink Vintage Fairy Tales
This camp combines drawing–using “old school” pen and ink–with watercolor washes. The subject matter is traditional fairy tales. Get inspiration from images in books and other sources to create your composition, which will be matted and ready to hang. Learn drawing techniques with both pencil and India ink. Enjoy the art and culture of a bygone era. Also, have fun creating a greeting card with pen and ink.
Drawing & Painting
The art training is “traditional”; the outcome is each student’s unique creation. Learn pencil sketching techniques, perspective, shading, and proportion by drawing a set-up of objects or a landscape. Use quality tubes of paint, pastels, and other mediums to produce two or more finished works—on canvas and paper. Contact Tina if your child is outside the age range.
Contact Tina if your child wants to attend the whole day and include lunch.
